Evidence and experience indicate that 

knowledge must be married with respect, integrity and empathy 

to achieve best outcomes

The real question is 

not about what shapes institutional values, 

but, rather, about what is shaping learning

Trainees will only notice values conveyed to them 

when conflicts with their personal beliefs raise those values to a conscious level

The involvement of research personnel separate from the institution 

might have added insight into the meanings of participants’ stories

• PBL은 비만한 사람은 멍청하다(stupidity)와 같은 식의 고정관념을 주입하기도 한다.
• Hidden curriculum은 공식적으로 표방하고 있는 평등주의, 이타주의, 전문직업성의 기반을 약화시켜서 학생을 전혀 다른 모습으로 만들어나갈 수도 있다. 
• 중요한 것은 그 학교(institution)가 표방하는 가치가 무엇인가가 아니라, 그 학교의 학습환경이 어떻게 구성되어있느냐는 것이고, 그 핵심에 hidden curriculum이 있다.

• For Hafferty, the hidden curriculum could be found in organisational norms, values, processes and structures.4
• More recently, many have come to consider the hidden curriculum as the repository of a set of unauthorised, unacceptable values masquerading as those of the institution.
• 학생들은 자기도 모르게 학생이 속해있는 집단의 가치관에 동화될 수 있다. 그러다가 개인적인 가치관과 충돌을 일으켜서 그 가치관이 'conscious level'로 올라왔을 때야만이 그 집단의 가치관이 무엇인가를 인식하게 된다.

• 기업 쪽에서 활용되는 Framework를 이용해서 hidden curriculum을 드러나게 할 수 있을까? Cultural web의 사용.다양한 행사와 이벤트들이 faculty staff와 학생들의 응집을 더 강하게 한다.
• Cultural web이 routines, symbols, structures를 더 잘 드러나게 해줄지는 모르겠지만, 거기에 의미를 부여하는 것은 연구자 자신이다. 
• 외부인의 입장에서 보면 다른 점을 발견할지도 모른다.

• Formal curriculum과 informal curriculum이 도달하고자 하는 목표는 같다. 하지만 학생들은 faculty들의 의도하지 않은 실수 등을 보기도 하고, 이러한 '나쁜' 요소들이 모두 사라질 수는 없다. 하지만 우리가 이와 같은 hidden curriculum을 '보고자' 한다면, 이러한 모순되는 메시지를 이용해서 학생들과 '가치'에 대한 토론을 할 수 있다. 의학은 '가치중립적'이라는 가식을 벗어 던질 수 있는 것이다.
