서 론

2010년 7월 대한의사협회지는 새 웹사이트(http://jkma.org)를 구축하였다. 본 논문을 통해 새 웹사이트에 대한 간략한 소개와 더불어 웹사이트를 통해 이루고자 하는 목적, 즉 한국의 최신 의료 정보를 국내 및 국제적으로 알리는 역할과 한국 의료계의 지나온 발자취를 정리하고 저장하는 역할의 역사적 중요성에 대해 다루고자 한다.

과 거

대한의사협회지는 1948년 5월 10일 창간호를 선보인 “朝鮮醫學協會會報”에서 시작하였다. 제1호의 권두언은 서재필 박사가 작성하였고(Figure 1)[1], “조선의학협회회보발간에 제하여”,“우리의사회의 연혁”및“제1회 학술대회 연설 초록”이 게재되었다. 제2호는 1년 후인 1949년 발행되었으며, 이때 대한의사협회의 명칭 변경에 따라 제호가 “大韓醫學協會會報”로 변경되었다[2]. 2호의 권두언은 윤일선 박사가 작성하였고 원저 1편, 임상실험 2편, 종설 1편 및 보고서, 학회 참석 후기 등으로 구성되었다. 특히“세계보건기구에 가맹한 의의”및“제14회 세계 Olympic 대한민국대표단 의무보고”등은 그 당시의 한국 의료사에서 대한의사협회의 역할을 보여주는 흥미로운 자료이다. 이처럼 2호가 발간된 이후 1950년 한국전쟁으로 중단되었다가 1958년 9월 1일 속간됐으며[3], 1961년 1월부터는 월간지로 발간되고 있다(pISSN 0023-4028). 1995년에는 제호가 현재의“대한의사협회지”로 변경되었다. 초기 대한의사협회지의 역사적인 활동과 내용은 1993년 10월 4일 대한의사협회지 웹사이트(http://kma.org/contents/board/mboard.asp?strBoardID=societyji)가 구축되면서 비로소 온라인에 공개되고 회원들이 수월하게 접근하여 대한의사협회 및 대한의사협회지의 과거를 알 수 있게 되었다. 그러나 독립된 웹사이트가 아니라 대한의사협회 홈페이지의 한 메뉴로서 운영되었다(Figure 2).

현 재

연간 35,000부씩 발간하는 대한의사협회지는 2008년 SCIE(과학기술논문 추가 인용색인)에 등재되었다. SCIE 등재는 대한의사협회지가 국제적인 학술지로 인정받았음을 의미하므로 이를 발간하는 대한의사협회의 위상 역시 국제적으로 향상되었음을 의미한다. 이를 통해 한국 의학의 연구 동향 및 발전상을 세계적으로 소개하는 기틀을 마련할 수 있었다. SCIE 등재 외에도 또 다른 국제학술지 평가시스템인 SCOPUS에 2007년에 등재됐으며, 국내에서는 한국학술진흥재단의‘등재후보학술지’로 2007년부터 등록되어 있다. 기타 검색 시스템인 KoreaMed, KoreaMed Synapse, KoMCI, WPRIM(Westen Pacific Regional Index Medicus), Worldwidescience.org, CrossRef 및 Google Scholar를 통하여서도 검색이 가능하다. 2007년 인쇄본 잡지 등록번호인 ISSN을 새로이 발급받았고(pISSN 1975- 8456), 온라인 잡지의 등록번호인 eISSN은 이번에 새 웹사이트를 구축하면서 2010년 6월 28일 발급받았다 (eISSN 2093-5951). 학술지 도메인으로서 jkma.org 및 jkma.kr 두 가지를 2010년 6월 21일 확보하였다.

The Journal of the Korean Medical Association (JKMA) established a new web site in July, 2010 available at http://jkma.org/. Here, we introduce the basic structure and concept of the new web site. The new web site provides current medical information from Korea to KMA members as well as global readers. The history of Korean medicine will also be organized in an easily accessible. Starting from this basic platform, JKMA will improve and expand other online functions in the near future. We hope every member of the Korean Medical Association enjoys browsing the content of JKMA through the new site and using the information they find in their clinical practice.
