Parkinson's Disease에서 나타나는 Tremor, Rigidity등의 증상이 사지 뿐만이 아니라 성대(Vocal Cord)에서도 나타날 것이라는 가설(가설이 아니라 이미 밝혀진 사실인가..??)로부터 출발한 '목소리'를 이용한 Parkinson병 진단 기술(www.parkinsonsvoice.org)에 대한 영상.

Max Little은 이러한 -저렴하고, 전문가의 도움이 필요 없으며, 빠른 - 기술로 축적된 데이터를 이용하여 99%의 정확도로 PD를 진단할 수 있다고 한다. (Yes/No 수준이 아니라 PD의 스펙트럼에서 어느 위치에 있는가까지를 진단한다는 의미인 듯)

가끔 TED에 이런 종류의 진단/치료 에 관한 talk이 올라올 때마다 당연히 '저거 진짜야?' '되는거 맞아?' '근데 그럼 왜 안써?' 와 같은 의문을 갖게 된다.

물론 비판적으로 받아들여야 하는 것일테지만 저런 아이디어의 참신함은 언제나 정말 놀라울 따름이다.
